Position Overview
The Administrative & Communications Coordinator provides administrative, communications, and organizational support for Vesey Lane Goods. This position is responsible for ensuring that internal and external communications remain timely, consistent, and professional while supporting organizational operations, scheduling, marketing communications, and community engagement efforts.
The Administrative & Communications Coordinator serves as a key support partner to the Creative Director by managing calendars, coordinating communications, supporting partnership outreach, maintaining digital communications platforms, and helping ensure that community members, customers, supporters, and partners remain informed about organizational activities.
This position may also serve as a point of coordination and support for communications interns, volunteers, and contracted communications professionals working on behalf of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
Administrative Support
Manage and maintain the Creative Director's calendar.
Schedule meetings with community partners, artists, vendors, stakeholders, and collaborators.
Coordinate meeting logistics and distribute meeting information.
Maintain organizational calendars, event schedules, and communications timelines.
Assist with administrative recordkeeping and organizational documentation.
Support day-to-day administrative functions that help ensure efficient operations.
Communications Management
Prepare and distribute weekly newsletters and organizational updates.
Draft and send communications to community partners, artists, customers, supporters, and stakeholders.
Manage communication follow-up and correspondence as assigned.
Support one-on-one outreach efforts with community members, partners, and collaborators.
Ensure organizational communications remain professional, accurate, timely, and consistent.
Digital Communications & Marketing Support
Schedule social media content across organizational platforms, including Instagram and TikTok.
Assist with planning and implementing communications campaigns.
Coordinate promotion of exhibitions, workshops, public programs, events, and organizational initiatives.
Support website updates, event listings, and program announcements.
Maintain consistency in organizational messaging, branding, and public communications.
Help ensure promotional content is scheduled and distributed in advance of upcoming programs and events.
Communications Internship Support
Serve as a point of contact for communications interns and volunteers.
Assist with content scheduling and communications workflow management.
Help ensure communications projects are completed according to established timelines.
Support onboarding and training activities related to communications systems and procedures.
Partnership & Community Communications
Assist with partnership correspondence and stakeholder communications.
Coordinate outreach related to exhibitions, workshops, public programs, and special initiatives.
Support cultivation and maintenance of community and organizational relationships.
Prepare and coordinate mailing campaigns and distribution of printed communications materials when needed.
Assist with direct outreach efforts via email and telephone as assigned.

staff and apprentice supervision, and contributes to the successful operation of the store and
public programming.
Primary Responsibilities

Vesey Lane Goods seeks an Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our cultural
retail and exhibition space. This leadership position is responsible for ensuring a welcoming,
engaging, and professionally managed environment for customers, artists, community
members, event guests, apprentices, and staff.
The Operations Manager serves as a key member of the leadership team and works closely
with the Creative Director and Assistant Operations Manager to maintain operational
excellence, support workforce development initiatives, and uphold the mission and values of
Vesey Lane Goods.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Retail Operations
Oversee day-to-day store operations.
Open and close the store according to established procedures.
Manage cash handling, register reconciliation, and sales reporting.

Position Overview
The Event & Community Engagement Lead serves as the primary liaison between Vesey Lane
Goods and the broader community. This position is responsible for cultivating community
relationships, increasing venue utilization through event bookings, supporting public
programming, and helping ensure that organizational activities remain responsive to community
needs and opportunities.
This hybrid position combines community outreach, event coordination, partnership
development, and relationship management. While some responsibilities require attendance at
events, meetings, and programs throughout Detroit, much of the work may be performed
remotely.
The Event & Community Engagement Lead helps strengthen the visibility, partnerships, and
community impact of Vesey Lane Goods while serving as an important bridge between
organizational leadership and the communities we serve.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Event Booking & Venue Utilization
Serve as the primary point of contact for individuals and organizations interested in booking the space.
Respond to event inquiries and coordinate venue tours.
Manage event scheduling and booking logistics.
Assist clients throughout the reservation process.
Develop outreach strategies that increase venue bookings and utilization.
Cultivate relationships with organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and
community groups that may utilize the space.
Support efforts to attract local, regional, and national organizations seeking event space.
2. Community Engagement & Outreach

The Curatorial & Exhibition Apprentice supports the planning, coordination, promotion, installation, and
documentation of exhibitions presented by Vesey Lane Goods. This position provides hands-on workforce
development experience in curatorial practice, arts administration, artist relations, exhibition design,
community engagement, and cultural programming.
The apprentice works under the supervision of the Operations Manager and collaborates with staff, artists,
and community partners to help ensure exhibitions are professionally organized, thoughtfully presented,
and accessible to the public.
This position is designed for college students, recent graduates, emerging arts professionals, and
individuals seeking practical experience within the arts and cultural sector.

The apprentice works under the supervision of the Operations Manager to help create a welcoming and
engaging retail environment while developing professional skills that support careers in entrepreneurship,
retail management, arts administration, and the creative economy.
This apprenticeship is designed for emerging entrepreneurs, artists, makers, college students, recent
graduates, and individuals interested in creative enterprise and workforce development.
