"Brother, I'm Dying" is a poignant memoir by Edwidge Danticat that explores themes of family, loss, and the immigrant experience. The book alternates between Danticat's childhood in Haiti and her adult life in the United States, focusing on her father's death and her uncle's struggles as he flees violence in Haiti. It is a finalist for the National Book Award and is noted for its emotional depth and social commentary on the Haitian experience. The memoir combines personal history with sociopolitical context, paying homage to Danticat's family and their resilience (Source: National Endowment for the Arts).

Leana Becker, co-owner and CCO of Western Sensibility, has over 25 years of experience in design including residential, retail, commercial, hospitality and branding. As the former Director of Interior Design at Kelly Wearstler, she honed her vision for the future of craft.
