Morning Birdsong is a one-of-one heirloom textile by fiber artist Robin M. Wilson and the inaugural work in the Held and Honored Collection.
Hand-constructed over eight weeks, the composition brings together sculptural crochet, appliqué, and layered textile construction. Twelve carnations, twelve leaves, and two birds emerge in quiet formation—an evocation of renewal, memory, and the symbolic language of morning birdsong.
Materials include crocheted acrylic yarn, silk taffeta backing, reinforced binding, and a lace border, selected for both tactile presence and longevity. Conceived as a bespoke heirloom baby textile, the work exists between contemporary fiber art and generational object—intended for use, preservation, and inheritance.
Each acquisition includes a Certificate of Authenticity, artist documentation, heirloom generational record, custom cotton preservation bag, and archival storage chest. Shadow box frame not included.
